I've read the reviews that the movie is fantastic, but also that there are scenes in there with critters (I hate critters, which is why I still have not been able to sit through an entire showing of Wrath of Khan even after all this time) and I emphatically don't want to see them.
Could you please tell me at what point in the film they show up? (beginning, midway, latter) so I can avoid them when this comes out in dvd?
The little scary bug comes out near the end of Captain Pike's interrogation scene; the big scary monsters attack Kirk when he's plodding across the tundra of planet he gets marooned on. There's a warning for when the big monsters are going to appear; you can see and hear one coming from a distance.
Oh, thank you, thank you! Oddly, I don't mind huge monsters at all (here boy, good, Godzilla! lol), but bugs and creepy crawlies send me leaping for the nearest table.) I may still have relative pre-screen this for me just in case lest I not be able to sleep.
Thank goodness Wally only dealt with nothing worse giant mind-control gorillas and universe destroying computer programs.
When it comes to bugs, there's really just the one, so as soon as he starts being "You will tell me what you know!" you can just skip over it to the next scene and you should be alright.
