Weeee! I love this story so much! this is perfect, perfect slave fic. Perfect doesn't even begin to cover it, actually. Because they are still themselves, and they want *out*, and I feel terrible for the other sentient intelligent beings in the veterinary. Arrrgg...

They were not content, but they had a measure of happiness, which was reflected in their evenings spent lounging in their cage, left to speak to each other freely as they wished. Their small freedoms didn’t grow, but they seemed to. Simply being left to themselves seemed such a luxury now.

That they are better because they are together, but that even that is not enough, because they aren't free and living to their full potential!! mrow! yesssss.
I love all of this. From their frantic sex, and the way they settle into their loving bond, to how much better they are together, and the escape! and Bruce biting that woman! go Bruce! even if something terrible might have happened to him -I'm kind of intrigued as to what they were going to do to him in the veterinary...- at least they got their opening.. for now.
