Batman's not-so glorious days...
May. 26th, 2006 04:18 pmToday NetFlix brought me Batman: The Complete 1943 Movie Serial Collection.
Rampant racism, that includes a white dude wearing far too much makeup and not sounding at all Japanese as he plays "the sinister Jap spy" from Tokyo that makes people into zombies. Batman is apparently fond of working in the afternoon and is taking orders from "Uncle Sam" in place of Bruce Wayne going to war.
Wicked cool. :D
I especially love how Batman stumbled after busting through a window, and Robin has better luck fighting the bad guys half the time. And they get a guy to talk by taking him to the Bat's Cave and threatening to leave him alone with the hungry bats. And they play tricks on Alfred. Awesome.
I also posted the story so far at JLA Unlimited and actually figured out how to make it work... the re-formatting is taking a while, and I'm about half done. But yeah. Tell your friends.
