The Silver Surfer #56
Aug. 31st, 2007 05:51 pmWait, wait, Marvel? Yeah. I have generally little more than an idea of what's going on in that little world through Cable & Deadpool on the sublist. But sometimes I read Silver Surfer and Ultimate Spider-man and whatnot. Back issues. So I was going through longboxes and saw bondage on the cover and was keen to take a peek, as I am, and lo I found something I'd actually seen some scans of before from s_d.
And then a scene and really, well... it hit me all funny in a very unsettling sort of way. If that makes any sense.
The Surfer has been enslaved and just gone through another round of torture to keep him compliant. And fakes submission so he can hold out longer. Try and find a way to escape. And almost does.

Man. Comics books really have their moments.
The whole story turns out to be just a vision of a possible future the Surfer has, in the end. Of course it can't be real. Ah, well.
