First of all, the mysterious disappearance of Demonoid really doesn't do my day any good. Come back! D:

Anyway.

So I got to wanting to read Liberty and Justice again, and I'll admit; mostly for Alex Ross's artwork. The story is great, too, of course. Alex Ross and Paul Dini did it. The big book, because it's massively not a standard TPB, is awesome. I can't tell you how many times my friends and I would go to Borders and I would just sit on the floor and read through it. A lot. They always knew where to find me.

And these are my three favourite pages. J'onn calls up the League on the telepathic link, and they meet at the Pentagon.

I love Batman. :D

Alex Ross just astounds me with his gorgeous work. God, I love his stuff. Love, love, love, love it all. He makes them so freakin' REAL.

When I saw this book a couple of years ago, before I knew who Alex Ross was and stuff, I really did believe these pictures were actual real people, people who were told to stand still and pose so the artist could draw them, lol.

That's Barry, actually. :)

Alex Ross had a thing for the Silver Age. I think the only time I've ever seen him paint Wally was the cover of Justice League of America #12 that came out just recently.

The whole thing is high res on the DC Comics site desktop patterns page (http://dccomics.com/downloads/?action=desktop_patterns).

Isn't it great? XD

It's all about the waistband on the uniform. Wally's has the little points in the front, Barry's kept the uniform zig-zag all the way around.

And the boots are a little different. Artists get the eye colour wrong about half the time, so yeah. That's pretty much how to tell the difference.

I totally lied. Wally also appears in Justice #8... as Kid Flash. XD

Almost totally forgot about that.

I know a few people who don't like they way Ross paints the clothes, but I love it! It makes it all the more real. That these really are people dressed in spandex for a living!

...I missed you, when you didn't post as much. ;_;

Now, I'm just staring at the small panel with the Flash's profile. And the panel with the Pentagon. God, that's some gorgeous artwork.

Aww! I missed it, too.

I love that profile shot, too. The little shadows and stuff. So cool. :D

Woah, that is some art. I've seen his covers, but never an entire comic done by him. I kind of want to print out most of that and stick it on my wall.

His comics are amazing. When Justice was coming out all last year it was so awesome to pick up a book and have it look... well, like that. :D

I have his poster of Diana framed on my wall. My bird loves it for some reason. XD

I love Alex Ross and Paul Dini!

I once leafed through an Alex Ross art book. It showed how he does his work - he gets models to pose for him, he takes pictures of them, he traces the pictures, and THEN he redraws based on the traces.

Now, how many steps do lesser comic artists skip in that equation? *coughLAAANDcough*

Really? That's the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Land?

I either think "PORNFACE" or "Gee, which actor did you rip-off this time?"

Oh, and another thing: Ross draws real fabric on real people. Most comic book artists draw painted on outfits!

There is, of course, pornface. But this one time I saw these ab muscles on... some Marvel chick a while back... and they looked like they were a snake trying to eat her or something.

You just never recover from something like that.

I think I know the cover you're talking about. I think it got posted at scans_daily... Yeah, snakeabs of doom, it was.

But the worst violation has to have been the Ultimate Power scan - one of the girls looks like she's in an invisible gangbang!
