Dove & The Boys

I just had to snap a picture of a scene happening next to me just now.
This is my pet collared dove, Dove, if you've not been introduced to her yet. She's a peach. Right now she's just flown back into my room to settle on her nest and prolly lay an egg. A sterile egg, because neither I nor my action figures are going to be able to impregnate her, regardless of what she thinks.
Yes, that is a headless statue of Mary in the background. I found it on the sidewalk last year. One of my old roommates offered to buy me a new one if I'd get it out of the house, but, I just never had the heart to throw it away.

I've been taking pictures in terrible light lately, hence the fuzzy. Backlit is the worst, but, I didn't have much time to capture the moment. :D
ETA: I'm going up to Maine for the holidays on Friday. Maine is friggin' awesome.

on 2007-12-19 05:57 am (UTC)I found it in a cemetary. I went around every statue to see if I could find where it came from, but it didn't match any, so I took it home & kept it. My parents, catholics, wanted me to dispose of it (I didn't, but it went missing sometime later) as they couldn't bring themselves to do it. Throwing away the head of mary would be a sin, surely... as is worshipping icons, but hey..
