::giggles:: I have a not-so-secret love for Clark being cutely indignant about the Bat on his turf only matched by when the Bat responds by getting chummy.

In The Batman Strikes! #44, Batman and Superman have met and worked together, but haven't entirely hashed out alpha-male territorial boundaries yet. Just where I like them; but those get worked out with surprising expediency. On the trail of Intergang, a spiffy plan is put into play by the two, but only after Bruce swaggers around the Daily Planet and gets a photo-op.

And after Batman gets totally scary on Rupert Thorne.

There's identity-switching, Superman getting a little possessive of the Bat, and escape artistry! Woo! The story is nothing that hasn't been done before, but all in all, I really enjoyed this one.

I think Lois looks really cute in that outfit. XD

MADE OF AWESOME. :D :D :D

Thusly, they cook up shenanigans and plot to get Mannheim... in which Bruce plays up his part just enough to be fabulous.

Yeah, that's definitely Bruce dressing up as Clark. Love that shit.

I think it's the certain degree of cliche-switching for these two that really makes their dialogue. Except for the cat in the tree; that's all Superman. :D

Threatening to choke the Bat makes Clark really ticked off; not only does he slam Mannheim into orbit and back (he's got Metallo modifications) but when he comes back, he wrecks the building in one hit. Heh.

"We should do this more often." Like they're playing golf or something. :D

So yeah; they don't exactly break the mold with this story, but it's lots of fun, and the whole thing is put together well right down to the lettering styles and Clark's spiffy suit. I was pleasantly surprised.

Thanks again for the scans. ;)

I don't what it is but the toonverse always seems to bring out precious moments like these. Very cute. I think its just the slasher in me but whatever. xD

I think part of the appeal of the DC Toonverses is the strict rules they have, and the accessibility in terms of history. You can't get too dark or angsty with your stories set in the Toonverse, since it's for all-ages, and you don't have to worry too much about accidentally contradicting what happened on panel 4 of issue 3 of volume 6 in a dream in a parallel universe. :P In other words, they are just like the comic books that I grew up with! I wish we had more fun, non-angsty comics.

I like how someone finally used the fact that Clark and Bruce look so much alike, and Bruce's over-playing Clark's happy little personality.

So effin cute. :)

Oooh! I am *definitely* going to have to pick up a few issues of this title! O_O I already miss the cartoon so much, this should hit the spot. And there's S/B to boot! Heh. ^_~

I was really surprised by Clark's sudden possessiveness. The rest of the comic didn't really build up to that moment, it just jumped out and slapped me in the face. It felt something like this in fact:

FriendsfriendsfriendsfriendsLOVERS!11one!!!friendsfriendsfriends

It was weird. :3 (Not that I didn't enjoy it. I spent more time on that one page than on the whole comic)

Always fun to hear your thoughts.
