Batman: DOA

I just watched that one episode of Batman: TAS where Bruce gets dosed with fear gas and spends some time locked up in Arkham/hallucinating for the first time. So, have some crazy Batman goodness.
In DOA Batman has been infected with a disease that's killing him him; with side-effects.

Also, there's this scene, heh.
It's got ups and downs, but it's whacky and lets Bruce have a good time and see get a look into his psyche... in between symptoms of imminent death. While trying to rescue a kidnapped girl. Bruce only has 24 hours to live, but he spends every last moment trying to save an innocent life... and is rather entertaining along the way.

That's the little girl. As you'll continue to see, little Bruce represents the "real" Bruce, deep inside Batman's head.
Then he goes just plain nutty for a while, and steals a car.

Then he wanders into a bar because he's thirsty. While looking like a bum that's already entirely in the bag.

On the verge of death, he sees what might be another hallucination... or possibly real. Either way, he gets to say goodbye to his parents.

I went into this not expecting much, especially not from the art, but I ended up leaving the book with a strange sense of satisfaction. Worth a read? Yes.
