Even more from Ignition; which is a trade I read over and over... and felt the need to share more of. The story and the art aren't perfect, but nearly every scene has a great moment. It all ties together nicely and makes a great idea work with a bit more of a moody tone than most Flash books; which can be very moody, but usually more high-energy.

In between the conversations with Len, Wally experiments a little with his speed; first he races a jet plane. Then he causes a little... accident. He learns that uncontrolled super-speed is dangerous, the hard way.

But I love the way this issue starts.

Duct tape is useful for everything.

Unfortunately, it still won't save those nice boots.

Super-speed is so cool. Watching someone learn to use it is doubly cool.

After that, Wally goes to work and runs into his secret identity's first negative side-effect. Nobody knows he's the Flash anymore, so out of costume he's just not treated the same way by everybody. It sets him off pretty easily.

And now, some damage.

Wally gets mugged walking down the street, and can't get the super-speed to work again right away. It takes the threat of lethal force for it to kick in... and he's not quite ready for it.

And there goes a city block, in record time.

He was going a little too fast for his own good and has to dig himself out of the rubble to call 911 and leave an anonymous call.

Heh, Wally. He looks like a red-haired Neo there where he's catching the bullet.
