I spent a good chunk of today reading through almost every single one of the Question's appearances in comics. I've learned a lot and gained myself a new OTP to go next to Bruce/Wally and Scott/Barda/Bruce/Clark on the shelf; Ted/Vic with a side Booster. [livejournal.com profile] mayoroftardtown knows. But more on that later; I come bearing Batman and Kyle. This issue came up because it has a Question appearance, the first time Vic and Helena meet, actually, but in another story.

This story starts with Kyle drawing out in public, drawing a weird old guy talking to a horse. A passer-by takes issue with this, then starts Kyle on a wild chase that leads to Gotham and Kyle proving himself to Batman. Seriously, Kyle is hard-core in this, to the point of insanity.

Before and after Batman steals his ring.

Kyle kinda looks like Kon in that one panel. I think it's the jacket and the hair.

But seriously, who does that? Just jumps on a moving car and then considers why that might not be such a good idea. XD

::dies dies dies::

hahaha, oh man. XD

Kyle is not deterred by Batman's hilariously blunt demands to get out; he's gonna get that brooch even if it kills him. Which comes pretty close to actually happening. He sneaks around, follows his man and... clumsily fails at stealth.

Pay attention to the guy facepalming in that bottom panel there. Also... taking bullets to return stolen jewelry? Kyle, dude. Ruthless.

Yeah, that was Batman. Ha.

While Bats takes out the bad guys, Kyle chases his target outside and is hopelessly outmatched without his ring. But nothing will stop him.

Kyle Rayner always gets his man. :D

Oh, right! They choose GLs on strength of will, aka stubborn as a Missouri goat! Oh, and not knowing fear.

This is adorable. Some times I wish they chose 'em for brains, but oh well.

Bats with first aid kit is awesome. Although Bats stealing the ring is even more awesome in its way.

I think there is something to be said about not over-thinking stuff in the heat of the moment; not the sort of thing a Lantern does too often. XD

There's over-thinking, and then there's thinking. Which often seems to be astonishingly absent from the actions of some GLs.

But I like 'em smart.

I'm thinking it has something to do with the short life expectancy of most Lanterns... I think John once said it was something like three years? heh.

I think the few GLs with brains they do happen to get -- such as Soranik Natu, M.D., or John Stewart, architect -- balance out the less-than-brainful GLs.

Woah. Batdickery followed by Bat-acceptance. Hoo-ray for Kyle!

Also, fandom would be a much better place if every OTP had a Booster on the side. ;)
