So [livejournal.com profile] scarab_dynasty can see it. In all it's weirdassness.

The Flash Annual #9. An Elseworlds, heh. The world is dead, and the religion left... worships the Flash. But that's not the interesting part, because Flash worship happens in the future in most continuities. Heh.

What is different is what they do with the Flash. At first it's just your standard carve symbols into your chest, bleed on the floor, beg to be blessed sort of religion, and then comes a conflict between two brothers, Tristan and Bryan. Tristan is the hardcore believer, Bryan doubts. And Bryan is the one who is chosen by the lightning.

Tristan is only given what appears to be eternal life in the bargain, and builds a new society in the frozen land. Warmth, light, and security, all provided by his brother and the others who are given speed.

Deborah busts Bryan out, and Bryan gets to fight Tristan. Makes away clean with Deborah, and they consider their next move after some inevitable close-calls.

A stranger that appears to help turns out to be J'onn.

What is J'onn talking about?

Well, the city is powered by Bryan's power. They'll all freeze to death unless he goes back into the machine, willingly.

So he does.

The comic ends with Bryan back in the pod, presumably for the rest of his life.

*is depressed but also sated*

You are deliciously awesome! I must repay you!

Uhhh... okay, I have none of the new stuff, but TP’s a plenty – ask of me, and (should it be within my power) it shalt be scanned! :D

Praise is all the payment I need. :)

But, if I'm ever looking for anything, I'll let you know. :D
