JLA Picspam!
Jul. 21st, 2006 08:48 pmMy imagehost has been wonky, and this is a bigass post, so I'm going to put it here as opposed to one of the communities. Because I still want to share.
JLA Annual #1, 1997, Lockdown, written by Brian Augustyn, drawn by Gene Ha.
It's pretty. And presents the JLA with an interesting situation; they have to stop a bomb being held by bad guys, without their powers. Batman shows them what's up. And saves Wally from plummeting to his doom, which is always nice.
It's also proof-positive that Conner should have stayed in the JLA. But don't ask me what's up with the telepaths. I don't have a clue.
The art kinda reminds me of the arc from Gotham Knights: Pushback, and I really like how they draw this version of Superman. Sometimes that costume looks really stupid, but here, I really like it.

on 2006-07-22 03:32 am (UTC)Kyle and Wally are playing Booster and Beetle fanboys to Batman. It's so cute! And Bruce is so nice! Weee! though I don't like the cowl that much... it looks funky.

on 2006-07-24 05:48 am (UTC)I was thinking the exact same thing.
And I love how the both of them have been drawn in this. Especially Wally, because most artists find a way (somehow!) to uglify him. The art is beautiful.

on 2006-08-06 08:28 am (UTC)ripping offreverse engineering other super-folks' gizmos for his own purposes.I'm not making much sense, I fear... but I imagine you know what I mean. Batman is awesome in and of himself, but he also has the power to absorb awesome wherever he finds it (metaphorically speaking, y'know). Conner-GA sort of also had that power, in a different way... too bad the Powers That Be don't like that guy.

on 2007-03-31 11:16 am (UTC)...love the art. it's rare to see the jla drawn this good after a long, long, long, horribly long time. kyle, wally and connor really look good here!
...<3 connor, kyle and wally together. XD the chemistry between the three are just great. maybe they should publish some kind of miniseries featuring the three of them? that would be awesome!
... thankyou for posting this! living in southeast asia, i'm utterly deprived of comics, unless you count those expensive tpbs ive been buying with my lifelong saving. XD
