Because I love love love Bart. And part of me got all gleeful when he was talking to John about his past with Wally, all defending him. It's moments like these where I can forget that Bart and Wally didn't get along most of the time in the comics.
And that bug-thing on Superman's face there is the tech-virus thingie that was doing bad things to 20th century Earth while the JLA was stuck in the future.
