My various trains of thought just got snapped off clean.

Cover for 52, Week 15, with all spoilers and all.

I went into 52 loving it. Being excited about the format, being one rarely used in comics, being all about the coolness I saw happening. Clark being without his powers, just Clark Kent as a player in the DCU, what would happen to the Bat legacy while the Bats were all away, the promise of otherwise minor characters taking starring roles and being movers and shakers.

I think this is the last straw, though.

After what happened with Ralph last week, I was more than a little let down. Before that, I'd been overlooking things like Steel being an ass and destroying Natasha's armour, Bart being in the story for all of five seconds and looking like a mopey Wally clone... cool things were happening. The Question was really shining with Montoya, I genuinely was curious about a few things going on actually.

But. What. The. Fuck.

If you're trying to make up for Infinite Crisis, you're failing in grand fashion DC. And now I won't be picking up 52 with genuine curiosity about what's happening next. I'll be picking it up with morbid fascination at the spectacular trainwreck going on.

Even if that cover isn't what it appears to be, I'm still not happy with Ted's death, and fucking up Booster in the aftermath was like taking everything both characters represented for decades and raping it with a pineapple.

I seriously am way too upset about this right now. It's unhealthy. But seriously, what are they going to do next? Kill Wally's family and turn him into a supervillain? Have it canon that Mr. Terrific is a rapist? Reveal that Tim has a long-lost brother they just made up; and he's a serial killer? I really wouldn't put it past them at this point, and that's sad.

At least Cassandra isn't going to be stupid and evil and dead anymore. That's something.

P.S. I genuinely understand the difficulty of trying to add plot-twists to a universe like DC. I think that they're good enough to handle it well; just look at what they did with Jason Todd. I think they're better than this, and that's why I'm annoyed at Booster and Beetle being their sacrificial lambs.

P.P.S. I just sprayed wine all over my face. XD

I have tear in my eyes again but this time, they are tears of frustartion. i barely met them, I didn't know who Booster Gold or Blue Beetle is until like, what, 2 months ago? And they do THAT to me? :(
I am believing FIRMLY believing that Supernova is Michael, that Ted's death and the The Ralph Thing We Do not Talk About was a mental equivalent of a lubless assrape by Hulk. Booster Gold is no more but Michael Carter is... just... changed, for (as some would say) better.

I really hope things turn out better than they look like they're going to. That's all I can really say. :/
