So while I'm on the Scott/Barda roll still, I figure the logical next thing to go on about is the strangest story of theirs; which is one of the plots in JLA: Another Nail.

Mister Miracle and Big Barda are captured and tortured by Darkseid... and Scott makes the ultimate escape. He cheats death.

Barda as a Green Lantern. Is the universe ready for that? But more immediately... is Darkseid?

Nah. Barda pwns all. And just how Scott survived is revealed... he's become a construct living in her ring. And thusly do they kick ass together.

Not only does she have a Lantern ring now, she's still got the mega-rod. Two of the most powerful weapons in the universe, being wielded by one of the most formidable denziens of the Fourth World? Wicked.

Not only is Scott still around as a construct... his relationship with Barda hasn't much changed, beyond Barda becoming a lot more stoic, and Scott a little more loud and... frisky. Weirdest marriage ever.

It's a lot like Barda became a GL and her husband became a genie in her ring. Oh Elseworlds, your wacky wacky ideas. How I love them so.

And, a random panel from the story... Barry just having been captured by the Crime Syndicate, tied up in Superwoman's lasso. Because the Crime Syndicate is awesome.

I really enjoyed the artwork for JLA: The Nail, and I was glad they kept the same artist. However, the story was less compelling and very muddled. I'm still not sure what a number of the characters in the book were even doing half the time, but it had its moments.

The Nail part 1 broke my heart. I was crying when Robin and Batgirl got killed. And Bruce had to kill Joker. But Selena as Catwoman was awesome.

Likewise, Scott Free's death and Barda's reaction hit me hard, too! And Barda being a Green Lantern is so awesome!!
