While I was poking around the Internets for... something I forget now... I came across a few pretty sweet pictures of Barda.

But first, one of the things I do when I'm writing is have some picture next to Notepad for prompting. For the last bit it was this.

Attempts to subdue Scott always end up in some contraption or other absurd means. While he was trying to find Barda in the porno issue of Action Comics, I think he got chained up, thrown in a sack, tossed into a dumpster that was then welded shut, and tossed into a harbor. Unfazed, he made some comment about how he'd been worrying about danger too much. XD

So now... who would win in a fight?

Source for that is Al Rio's website. But seriously. No mega-rod, no lasso, who wins?

The next one is a little easier.

::giggles:: Oh Harley. She could snap you in half. But Ms. Quinn seems to be all about the strong women with feminist subtext, so maybe that's the appeal.

::writes on blackboard:: I will not slash Harley and Barda. I will not slash Harley and Barda. I will not slash Harley and Barda.... Damnit. They're already having wacky sex in my head. ::sigh::

And one last pretty, because Bruce Timm draws everyone full of awesome...

Also, a post in [livejournal.com profile] fanthropology had me musing idly about a question of definition; do I write smut or erotica and is there really a meaningful difference? My musings went nowhere fast, but did remind me I haven't written nearly enough girl-on-girl action.

I use the term smut, but I usually only really see it as smut when it is raw...the crass terms for organs, very direct descriptions of what is going on. Erotica is a slow seduction of the senses, requires more imagination.

And Yeah, you are severely lacking in the g on g department. *ducks*

In so many ways. ::wistful sigh::

I'll have to fix that, once this bunny I'm currently beating into submission comes of something...

Yeah. It'd last a while. They'd be all filthy and sweaty before one of them finally gave in...

Yeah. Girls girls girls! XD

Wonder Woman vs Barda, no tools depends on how they fight. If Wonder Woman uses her speed and flight to divebomb Barda or simply take her up to 10,000m and threatens to drop her (in other words she uses her brain). On the other hand, Barda grew up in the care of Granny Goodness - she is simply going to shrug off pain that would make anyone (probably including Batman) curl up in a ball whimpering. Therefore if confined to the ground, Wonder Woman is faster and stronger - but Barda has the weight and leverage and is going to be the last one standing even if she is theoretically the more badly hurt of the two.

And I'm not aware of you having written smut per se. (And I really must get that WW/Supergirl inspired by the JLAmazon written down).

Hmm. It's always a trick, fliers versus non-fliers, because it's so easy for them to get the advantage that way. But also, I think that getting a hold of her would be difficult enough that it might not happen. I think that's why it doesn't happen that often in comics.

I love thinking about it. ::laughs::

The Justice League of Statuesque Lesbians has inspired possible fic? That's very exciting news. XD

I'm not sure whether to prioritise actually getting that one written down, whether to continue All war is based on deception (my Birds of Prey/Buffy the Vampire Slayer, set during 52, and the only use for JLA vs Vampires I have ever found other than as a paperweight) or whether to try getting round to writing Angel of the Bat (if DC didn't want it, I think the story will be well worth telling despite the fact that I am no Gail Simone).

You mean The Tenth Circle? Yeah. Oh John Byrne, I still love the way you draw Bats.

I had way too much fun making fun of that storyarc.

I vote for femslash, but I'm biased. XD

I do indeed mean The Tenth Circle :)

And you think that a crossover between Buffy (post Season 7) and Birds of Prey won't be chock full of femslash? (For one thing, there aren't enough men for there to be anything else). I'm just waiting to find out what the pairings are although Giles/Zinda is looking highly probable and there's a definite fling between Willow and Faith (Kennedy's been exiled) - but Faith in the online parts hasn't appeared, and in the draft of the next chapter has only been seen disappearing from an extremely bruised kidnapping ring that the Birds were planning on taking out - no surviving kidnappers, but no bodies either (and I haven't actually written down the scene of Faith seducing Willow at the end of that mission).

The only Buffy I've seen is the part of that one episode where Willow makes out with a chick.

So, um... I have no idea. ::laughs::

Um. Which episode and which chick? She has two girlfriends in the show (the first one gets shot).

And by the end of Buffy, the survivors are four guys and about thirty girls, and all the girls have some form of minor superpowers (usually just increased speed, strength, endurance, and a little danger sense). And the female cast expands quite naturally to a school full of low level superpowered people (and Oracle has dispatched Huntress to teach there - writing the Interview from Hell made my jobhunting seem much less scary).

Not a clue, see, now you know just how little I know.

But... a horde of chicks with low-level powers? That's pretty awesome sounding. :D

First couple of chapters (well, intro drabble that sparked it and first chapter) are up here (http://www.tthfanfic.com/Story-9533/Francis+All+war+is+based+on+deception.htm). Next chapter is in draft form and plotting's gone a long way - but I need to get round to writing it down.
