Totally spoilers for Justice League of America #1.

I have such a huge soft spot for evil versions of my favourite characters. Especially when they have totally bitchin' costumes.

Teh evil aero discs are sawblades! ::squee::

Is it bad that I laughed my ass off at that last panel there?

I never really liked the Metal Men. And they've been in worse condition before.

What's very awesome about this guy is that, even though he's been in all of three panels in this issue fully, he's very obviously the exact opposite of Scott Free. Why? He called someone "master" and Scott is very aptly named Free; wouldn't be caught dead calling anyone master.

Calling Barda "mistress", on the other hand...

I've never heard of a "hush tube" before... but this guy is just that much more badass because he has one. Also... Father Box? Huh. "Pok pok pok!"

My investigations have given me no clues about who this person is. But I love him. Dearly.

::dances around::

Also: a nifty blog entry, Mister Miracle's Mad Opera: Taking Comic Lunacy to Another Level, which pretty much sums up my feelings on Scott & Barda, and Kirby's Fourth World in general.

Hm... Mother Box's wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mother_Box) mentions that, that it's an Apokolyptican thing, and thus ultimately an instrument of the great and powerful Darkseid (may he rule for eternity), but not what issues it happened in... which makes me curious.

Also, that Captain Marvel had a Mother Box when Shazam was on New Genesis? Weird.

Cap Marvel had a mother box? Wow. Now they have gone too far. Batman, sure... but Cap? C'mon.

Apparently. It sounds to me like there's a story behind that... which may either be interesting or dumb as hell. Heh.

Batman had/has a Mother Box? The idea alone is made of awesome.

From the S/B Supergirl arc... Which has two great Bruce/Scott bits, of course. The fact that Bruce walks right over to and opens Scott's secret chamber and that, as the demon dogs attack him he says, "Scott... wherever you are... I hope you have a miracle left for me.

It was after the Genesis event.

The Godwave temporarily screwed up the Marvel family powers, so they needed a boom tube to get the magic lightning from the Rock of Eternity to them.

...I think that was it, anyhow. It's a bit foggy in my mind, mostly because I didn't want to read that.

My vote is swinging more towards "dumb as hell"... heh.

You're partially right.

What happened is that Shazam stayed on New Genesis as one of the gods after that whole Godwave mess. They needed the Mother Boxes for him to hear them call his name and send the lightning.

The Father Box appeared during the Orion series. Roughly from issues 10-16.
