Cassandra & The Stranger

Back in the 70's the Stranger was a bit different than he is now, and his longest-running series definitely had more punching than voodoo, so to speak. It also had a brief fling with a blind seer named Cassandra, in her ever-present pink jumpsuit. She first appears in The Phantom Stranger #17, re-appears in #22, and has her last appearance in #24. Because it could never last.
Part damsel in distress, part love interest, part sidekick.

It doesn't take long for Cassandra to return, after the Stranger beats up some ghost pirates and is right ready to have some tall blonde in his life; when she gets kidnapped and brainwashed.

Isn't that just so romantic? XD
She starts travelling around with him, and it's all very domestic; kinda unsettlingly so for the freakin' Stranger. And he lets someone die.

After another adventure fighting some evil cultists, the Stranger is presumed dead; and does nothing to let his woman know any different.

I can't help feeling bad for the girl, I mean, that's just not very nice, ditching your chick like that.
Next time: the Stranger's lovechild?
