I might have it figured out.
Dec. 9th, 2006 01:19 amScans from Infinite Crisis, 52, and Flash: The Fastest Man Alive, to lay out Wally's post-IC fate once and for all, because it was confusing the everliving fuck out of me.
Infinite Crisis #4; the speedsters are all after Superboy Prime, yadda; Jay and then Wally break off, and Wally returns to Linda to say goodbye before being sucked into the Speed Force. She demands to come with him.

This story is backed up by a panel in 52 Week 1, the first time we see Bart during the year gap. Wally seems to have gotten a happy ending to his story, riding off into the sunset with his family, and all that.

Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #6; in which all is revealed about what happened when Bart was gone. Kinda. Is this scenario possible if the IC version of events happened the way they appeared on-panel? Sure, it's comic books, right? Let's go with that.

In conclusion, Wally isn't actually dead. This is my final ruling, that he is, in fact, in an alternate Earth with his family and it's peachy. Everything's grand, the twins are going to grow up just imperfect enough not to be Mary Sues, and they all live happily ever after. The end.
There. Christ. It's like they tore apart the story and scattered it all over the place on purpose, making it all vague and convoluted. DC would never do such a thing, would they? XD

From Flash: The Fastest Man Alive #7, I was totally right, even if the DC holiday special got it wrong and nobody could figure it out, I was right! ::fistpump::

And that, as they say, is that.
