Teen Titans Year One #4

This series is so friggin' cute. It's like everything I'd ever want from a revisit to the early Teen Titans days... well, kinda. Wonder Girl being gaga for some boy band and Garth being a nervous nelly every day of the week... well. I guess that just accentuates how young they are, right? Never thought I'd miss the Aqualad-fro.
There is, however, a great little Wally West coming out of this.
I don't have much to say right now, because according to my mother I'm sick in the head and possibly going to grow up to be a serial killer because I was watching Dexter and enjoying it.
::goes out and takes a drive::
Alright, where were we?

Oh, Mary West. See, I always liked her, flaws and all; she's doing the best she can with a psychotic husband and a hellion son hiding an unbelievable secret from her his entire teenage life. His incredibly conceited little teenage life.

::giggles:: That sounds so dirty.

Okay now, just look at Wally's face here in comparison to the other captives. They're all downtrodden by being captured. Donna appears to be attempting escape. Wally's just sad that he's being hopelessly upstaged. Shallow? Maybe. Just a little. What else does this say about little Wally West. No fear. I'm not sure if they were trying to emphasize that Wally makes a poor leader or that if anyone listened to him at all it would have gone better. Even still, I'm not sure where all this animosity toward Robin is coming from; Kid Flash might have punched him in the face or screamed at him now and then, but he never really denied that Dick was their leader when all was said and done. When he wanted to be in charge? He just left the Titans.
This issue was all about the flaws of the little Titans, so it's to be expected; on the whole, I don't think it was as strong as the first three issues, but that's how a built-up issue can work sometimes, and it was a lot of fun. Could have picked a better villain, though.
And the moral of the story seemed to be that Alfred is the one who really knows what's up.
I enjoyed this more than Green Lantern this past week, which is weird and kinda telling. About which series, I'm not sure.
Anyway, don't take my word for it. 'Cause I'm craaaa-aaazy. ::rolls eyes::
