Just, holy crap. I have to make note of this.

The last storyline was all about Mr. Freeze and his wife's actions just before her death; turns out Thomas Wayne was her doctor near the end. Huh.

This one's totally different. The art is amazing. Some scans here. They're crappy, but the best I could come up with on the spot. Some people don't like the art, but I do. It's just so damn expressive, even for characters who don't smile at all the entire time. It's also very atmospheric in a way fitting to the tone of the story.

But like... it's comics Bruce Wayne falling in love. Not like infatuation with Catwoman love, but real, soul-warming gives-more-meaning-to-life love. I was almost shocked.

He's brooding and reflective. And enchanted. I can't wait to see how the story plays out, despite being dark; her sister, about to be married, has been kidnapped, and Batman is on the case with a vengeance.

I really love this image with the shadow being different. It's so...visually poetic.

Oh yeah, remember that Space Ghost comic? Same artist. I'm a big fan.

I picked up this issue - it's pretty cool, although Bruce pulled a "I slept with a strong-willed socialite woman and now I'm in love after one day."

But otherwise, I'm enjoying it ^_^

After seeing this post, I spent weeks trying to find my own copy of #207. I finally got it two weeks AFTER #208 came out. I love the story too, it's so beautiful, and the art... omg, the art.

I'm not sure I liked #208 with that obscenely...obese guy. It was disgusting. And I don't understand how he has to do with any of the murder mystery. Mmm, perhaps I need to reread the issues again. ;)

But anyway, just wanted to let you know that if you hadn't written about Legends of the Dark Knight at all, I wouldn't've been interested in reading this series, so, thanks.

Speaking of which, do you know why this storyline is so good? It's because this series will end in October. #211 is the last issue. So I guess the editors thought they should go out with a bang with Legends of the Dark Knight. Which is too bad, I was getting to really like this "Elseworlds" series... Anyway, they're making a NEW series to replace Legends. It's called Batman: Confidential (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Batman_Confidential). It sounds pretty nifty to me, especially since Confidential is now considered canon.

(I really wish we could have BOTH Legends AND Confidential. Woe.)

I couldn't find a copy of #208. ::pout::

And I didn't know they were ending the book. That makes me sad, but I'm glad to be getting some awesome stuff out of it. :D
